4. Commissioning and handover. Flue gas analysis, system pressure set, controls programmed with you rather than at you, and the Building Regulations notification lodged so your compliance certificate arrives by post.

Do I need to tell anyone the work has been done?

Is a bigger boiler better?

No, and it is the single most common specification error we see. An oversized boiler short cycles, firing and stopping repeatedly instead of running steadily, which wastes gas and wears the components. The output is calculated from the heat loss of your property, not from the size of the old unit.

Can you install if my gas supply pipe is undersized?

We can, but the supply has to be upgraded first and that is quoted separately. A modern combi draws considerably more gas than the appliance it replaces, and an installer who connects to an inadequate supply has fitted a boiler that will never reach its rated output.
